Firm Sues GPS Vendor After Teen Injured By Stray Bullet
Simms Showers will represent the victim of a 2009 shooting by a repeat juvenile offender who was supposedly being tracked by an ankle monitoring device. The offender, who was under home detention, got into a fistfight in South Baltimore, left and then returned with a gun, firing into a crowded intersection. The then-six-year-old victim was hit in the head by a stray bullet while on her way home from the store, and now suffers from uncontrollable movements of her limbs and speech difficulties, and can’t walk or play with friends.
